Findus has a wonderful life with Pettersson on the chicken farm, "because nothing is more good than chicken-mongering for the happy-go-lucky tomcat souls." But in this children's opera, the popular tomcat faces a rival! Ever since Pettersson saved the rooster Caruso from his neighbor Gustavsson's cooking pot, Gustavsson has become the proverbial cock of the walk among the chickens. Not only that, but the tomcat no longer has a moment's peace, because Caruso crows incessantly and at the top of his voice. Even Pettersson seems to be getting fed up. Then Findus comes up with a cunning plan that brings peace, but also the realization that lying isn't the best way to live. How can the Caruso problem be solved to everyone's satisfaction?
In a wonderfully diverse operatic adaptation, Niclas Ramdohr and Holger Potocki do the velvet-pawed cat proud. They never lose sight of the fun, captivating audiences, children and adults alike, from the very first bar.
