La Traviata
The beautiful and witty Violetta, from Parisian high society, falls in love with Alfredo at a lavish party in her salon. However, she is pressured to leave him to protect his family's social standing. A month later, Violetta is dying. Alfredo comes to her after his father reveals the true reason for their separation. Violetta forgives Alfredo and dies.
The unique quality of La traviata lies in the tragedy of the everyday, which Verdi expresses with clear and moving emotion. Thus, soon after its premiere in 1853, the work embarked on a triumphant journey around the world that continues to this day.
