The Bärbeiß is preparing for its big performance
For the first time this year, we have chosen a new, shadier location for the "DOMINO – DomStufen-Festspiele für die Kleinen". A grandstand with seating for 300 people was set up on Severiwiese two weeks ago. From here, you can catch a glimpse of part of the Petersberg Citadel's fortress walls while being protected from the sun. Since Monday, a small but well-equipped campsite has also been set up. In the meadow, surrounded by large trees, the sets for this year's children's play, Der Bärbeiß, were delivered, assembled and positioned within two days. The forklift driver had to take special care when placing the roof terrace on the caravan.
In addition to the caravan, there is a swimming pool island complete with a lifeguard's chair (Tingeli’s home), a mobile bicycle ice cream kiosk and a large pavilion where musicians dressed as bunnies will perform. They will play wonderful live music on the piano, cello, clarinet and percussion instruments.
By Tuesday, the setup, including the sound equipment, was almost complete, enabling the artistic team to begin rehearsing on schedule in the afternoon.
Despite the extreme heat, we wish everyone involved a productive rehearsal period and are especially looking forward to this open-air experience for all the family. Tickets for the premiere on 15 August 2026 and all subsequent performances until 30 August are available from visitor services and online.
