On April 28^, 2023, on the premises of it's general sponsor the press conference for Erfurt's 'DomStufen-Festspiele' took place.

For the festival's 30th anniversary, following the spirit of Goethe's drama Faust, Theater Erfurt dedicates it's forces to mankind's quest for meaning wavering between lust for life, vocation and morality. Director and set designer Ben Baur is staging Hector Berlioz's 'légende dramatique' The Damnation of Faust. Visitors may look forward to a magnificently playing Philharmonisches Orchester Erfurt, to impressive choral scenes and to breathtaking acrobatic performances against a mystical backdrop. On July 7, 2023, The Damnation of Faust will celebrate its premiere. Together with Goldhelm Schokoladen Manufaktur, the audience's waiting time will be sweetened by a special chocolate edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of 'DomStufen-Festspiele in Erfurt'. Starting in May, the so called Canaches edition and a special milk chocolate edition can be purchased at Theater Erfurt's visitor service and directly from Goldhelm.

For 29 years, Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Hessen-Thüringen together with its associated partners has supported the 'DomStufen-Festspiele' in Erfurt as general sponsor and, together with other sponsors and patrons, thus contributing to the success of grand scale productions of opera and musical theatre since 1994.
